Keep kids and families exploring, connecting, and unplugging in Rutland, VT

🌲 Let’s Keep the Adventure Alive!

🌿 For more than a decade, the Come Alive Outside Kids Outdoor Passport has sparked joy and adventure for over 6,000 kids and their families every year in Rutland County.

It’s not just a booklet. It’s a ticket to adventure, a reason to lace up your sneakers, and a reminder that joy is waiting right outside your door.

✨ The Hard Truth: Because of federal funding cuts, this program that families love is at risk of disappearing.

We need to raise $50,000 to keep the program alive through 2026 while we secure a sustainable funding source. And we need your help by October 31. If not, the program may end.

➡️ Here’s the first milestone: If we raise $15,000 by October 31, Winter Passports will happen.

🌟 Why it Matters

The Kids Outdoor Passport removes barriers and makes outdoor play possible for every child—no matter their family’s income.

  • Thousands of kids get their own colorful passport filled with outdoor adventures, activities, and challenges.
  • Free activities & events mean every child can explore parks, trails, museums, swimming spots, farms, and community spaces—without cost getting in the way.
  • Joy and healthy habits are built into every page, encouraging kids to run, climb, laugh, explore, and build lifelong connections to nature and to each other.

Without community support, too many kids will lose this spark of outdoor joy.

❤️ Community is at the Heart

This program has never been just about Come Alive Outside—it truly takes a village.

Each passport is co-created with the people and places that make Rutland special: local businesses, schools, libraries, parks & rec, Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum, the farmers’ market, Phoenix Books, WIC, Rutland County Pride, Boys and Girls Club, Heritage Family, farms, health partners, and so many others.

Every page is a love letter to our community—and a reminder to kids and families that they belong, they matter, and they’re part of something bigger.

💚 When you give, you’re not just saving a program. You’re keeping a community tradition alive.
